The new Chinese mobile phone with XXL battery is here – and the price is right too

With the Realme 7i there is now a new mobile phone for the entry-level segment that wants above all to stand out with an extremely long battery life. The cheap smartphone has at least one downside, at the end of the day.

Realme 7i: the cheap battery monster is here

After Realme launched a mobile phone called the 7i for the Chinese home market in September 2020, a slightly different variant is now available worldwide. The Realme 7i can now also be ordered in Germany.

You don’t need to search long to find the cell phone’s strong point: the battery has a capacity of 6000mAh. According to the manufacturer, the smartphone can be recharged a third in 30 minutes. Up to 18 watts are available as charging power. There is also a reverse charge.

The other specs of the Realme 7i don’t read as spectacularly. An LCD screen with a diagonal of 6.5 inches and a screen-to-body ratio of 81.7% is used. The resolution is 1600 x 720 pixels.

For the processor, the MediaTek Helio G85 was chosen, which is supported by 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of permanent storage. The memory can be expanded using a microSD card. In addition, there is a triple camera which allows images up to 48 MP. The ultra wide angle creates 8 MP, while the macro lens allows a maximum of 2 MP. Selfies are possible with up to 8 MP.

Probably the biggest downside to the Realme 7i is the operating system. Here, the Chinese manufacturer continues to use Android 10. It has not yet been revealed when an update to Android 11, released months ago, will arrive. NFC is also not included in the Realme 7i.
